A little bit closer to getting answers
Hiii!! This is a lighthearted post and in hopes someone that is struggling with getting heard or getting a diagnose can find this, to let you all know to keep fighting for you and your rights.
After failed attempts at getting heard, after my traumatologist told me that it was impossible for me to have hEDS cause i couldnt reach the floor easily (i used to be able to, now i have a belly and back-aches but on a good day i still can), i finally got listened to, finally a doctor paid attention to me and my symptoms and has asked the team from “internal medicine” to have me take a genetic test, I still have to wait and see if they approve it or not, I’m keeping my hopes down cause i know these are expensive and they most likely will reject it (I’m spanish, so public healthcare is… something hahah) but still, it feels SO nice to be heard, she wasnt all abroad at first, she was like “hEDS is for extreme hypermobility… (blah blah blah)” implying she didnt believe me, but i showed her my tricks and she was speechless hahah but yeah, this is not only a post to share my happiness but also to everyone out there thinking of giving up getting answers, or frustrated at their doctors for not paying attention or dismissing you, to keep going, keep seeking answers, talk to many people, doctors, ANYTHING, i hope for everyone to find the answers they need<3
Thank you to everyone in this sub for being so sweet and helpful.🫶🏼
