quoted 15k for dry rot repair. any oregon contractors offer payment plans?

Discussion/Opinion

so i knew buying a fixer upper in eugene was going to come with some costs but i was not prepared for the dry rot situation to be this expensive. got a quote for $15k to repair everything properly and i literally don't have that sitting around. i can maybe swing $5k upfront but the rest would need to be on some kind of payment plan.

Do contractors in Oregon typically offer financing or am i going to have to put this on credit cards and hate my life? I've called a few places and gotten very vague answers about "we can work something out" which makes me nervous. I don't want to end up with a half finished job because I can't pay everything at once.

also if $15k sounds insane for dry rot repair please tell me so i can get more quotes. this is my first house and I have no reference point for what things should cost.
