Spousal Visa

Hi everyone, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m currently speaking with an immigration lawyer, but I thought I’d also reach out here for additional guidance.

I’m nearing the end of my Graduate Visa and am trying to secure a job that would allow me to switch to a Skilled Worker Visa. Unfortunately, my partner was recently diagnosed with cancer and has just completed his last round of chemotherapy. I’m also looking into the FLR(HRO) visa, as I may qualify as his carer, but I understand that this is only a temporary option.

I’ve been considering a Spousal Visa as well, but I’m unsure whether we would meet the requirements. My partner is here under the Ukrainian Extension Scheme, and I’m an American on the Graduate route. We’ve been together for three years, but we haven’t been in a financial position to get married yet.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation or who may have advice on the best path forward.
