[TOMT] Short animation film

I'm looking for a movie that I saw once on YouTube. In short, it was a short animated movie, which featured an endless sea on which there was dozen or so men, who have had limited access to light, but one day a light object came down from sky and they started to fight about it, leaving only one alive in the after math. The movie lasted for 8-ish minutes.

More detailed, the village that they lived in was located on an endless sea and formed a circle. The houses were not connected, but within the circle there was some rocks and water lilies, which were later used to get to the light orb and to fight about it. They had little access to light, which was only accessible for few minutes a day. Each men had different profession, but the "main" character was a writer, and when everybody else fought for the orb, he stayed inside, which resulted in him getting the light orb, because the winner of the fight has drowned. He was the only one left alive and the film ended with him writing his book.

When it comes to the aesthetics of the movie, it was dark-ish. Men had weird shaped bodies, were grey-ish and didn't talk at all. I could have seen it on some paid subscription site and not YouTube, although I doubt that.
