Blighted Bloom Miranda the First Maiden?
This is half question half statement so feel free to weigh in on either side of it
We know that the crucible refers to the melting pot of which was a time when all things were combined. Through evolution the crucible became disdained, impure, and eventually cast away. We know of three species that were cast away in tandem
-
Crucible Knights. A faction belonging to the first Elden Lord, whose powers draw directly from the crucible of life itself
-
Misbegotten. Scaly, half bird half reptile type creatures that are just plain ugly. Seemingly all female but that’s not relevant here
-
Omen. Giant, cursed, Tarnished beings cursed from birth. Banished from the common places and shunned underground to live in their own filth and misery
What if there was a fourth crucible? The Flower Crucible? Everyone relating to the Crucible was eventually either killed, culled, enslaved, or banished right? Well upon learning that Miranda Blooms feast on human flesh (think glorified Venus flytraps), the Leyndell Perfumers started hiding them in caves, feeding them, and cultivating their own perfumes in secret. A sort of enslavement that borders on mutualism
Miranda’s Prayer description says: Miranda, maiden of the Flower Crucible is said to have been the very first of this breed. and even the talisman itself seems to be a depiction of a young women in prayer.
Let’s draw a quick parallel here to two other renown figures we know all too well. Malenia and Milicent. Both born, or share blood of, Marika the Eternal. Following the name rules of lore, if Miranda was a devout perfumer and direct descendant of Marika, what if Mother Marika did what she does best and cursed her? Turned her into a flower and cursed her by cursing her children’s bodies be used for the very act Miranda herself was devoting her life to - perfuming and healing the exiled
It would explain a few things
-
Why we find Miranda Blooms so close to perfumers, and they never fight
-
Who Miranda is, where she came from, and what her purpose is (to heal the exiled trio species)
-
Why despite their contents (innards, pollen, bodies) are needed by perfumers to heal, yet the flowers never seem to fight or run away from these exact perfumers
To wrap this up I’d like to point something else out quickly: we know about how the Aspects of the Crucible incantations refer directly to just that aspects OF the crucible quite literally: horn, fang, fire, feather (wing), scales (tail). So when this new dlc incantation was added (Aspects of the Crucible: Bloom), why does the name literally mention to us that “bloom” are an aspect of the crucible? While also being Miranda’s actual full name (Miranda the Blighted Bloom) hm?
Well TDLR because I think she was a human, directly descended from Marika, who was so devoted to healing the exiled crucible species that the latter cursed her and all her offspring to do just that; but unto eternity.
It’s 2am but I had to get this out. I will go over it in the morning and edit it all to make more sense
