Free Parking for Patriots vs. Bills at Gillette Stadium (Foxborough 12/14)
figured i'd share some parking advice for the pats game since it can be a total nightmare if you dont plan ahead. honestly getting in and out of gillette is the worst part of the experience.
so there is free parking, which is awesome. the stadium has huge lots across route 1 that are free for anyone with a game ticket. they open up 4 hours before kickoff, so for a 1pm game that's 9am. you def want to get there as early as possible because all traffic has to use route 1 and it gets backed up for miles. just be ready for a bit of a walk from these lots to the stadium entrance.
if you don't wanna deal with that, I've started using this app called Prked. people who live super close to Gillette Stadium rent out their driveways for game day. it's way cheaper than the paid lots and you can find a spot that’s just a short walk away. the best part is you skip the insane traffic jam trying to get into the official lots and getting out after the game is so much faster.
as for other options, you'll see a bunch of private lots along route 1 as you get closer to the stadium. they usually charge like 40 bucks. the main benefit here is that they're a lot quicker to get out of than the stadium lots. if you do park in the official free lots, just accept that you're going to be waiting a long, long time to leave. we usually just tailgate for another hour or so after the game ends to let the traffic clear out a bit. trying to leave right at the final whistle is a recipe for frustration.
one other trick is the "be paid to park" lot. it's one of the official lots where they actually give you a $50 gift card to park there. the catch is you can't leave for 75 minutes after the game is over. it's not a bad deal if you plan on hanging out at patriot place for a bit afterwards anyway.
whatever you do, get there early, have a plan, and be patient leaving. traffic is no joke.
hope this helps, go pats
