Nervous about short layover + mom might need assistance?

Hi all.

I have a 1h 5min layover in Doha (Madrid-Doha-Osaka). We were supposed to fly MAD-DOH with Iberia (all flights were booked through Qatar Airways) with a 8h layover which has been cut short to just 1hr because Iberia cancelled the flight (now both flights are with Qatar Airways). I've looked at stats and usually the first flight is almost always delayed by 20min and we are afraid we might not make it.

Also, mom has been recovering from a broken toe and while she can walk normally, she can't run/must avoid it at all costs, which is why I'm also concerned.

Should I ask for assistance before flying? I have already reached them through Twitter.
