Goa Nightclub Owners May Face Interpol Action: Other Indians Already On The Global Wanted List
The Luthra brothers — owners of the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub in Goa where a devastating fire claimed 25 lives last week — are expected to become India’s latest addition to Interpol’s watch list.
According to sources, the global policing organisation is likely to be approached for a Blue Corner Notice, which helps gather additional information about a suspect’s identity, location and activities during an ongoing criminal investigation. The brothers — Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra — reportedly left India for Thailand just three hours before the nightclub in Arpora caught fire during a weekend party.
The investigation has so far exposed several shocking safety lapses: extensive use of highly flammable decor, absence of fire extinguishers, and lack of proper emergency exits. Based on evidence found, Goa Police have filed charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
As India prepares to pursue the Luthras’ extradition, the development has once again highlighted names of several other high-profile fugitives who remain abroad despite being wanted for major crimes.
