Free Parking for Broncos vs. Packers - VIP Tailgate at Empower Field At Mile High (Denver 12/14)

what's up everyone, going to the VIP tailgate for the Broncos Packers game and figured i'd share some parking advice since it can be a nightmare. traffic is always insane for games so plan ahead.

honestly the best free parking option if you don't mind a little travel is to park at one of the light rail stations away from the stadium and just take the train in. a lot of the park-n-ride lots are free and the train drops you off right at Empower Field at Mile High station. it's super easy and you completely skip the pre-game and post-game traffic jam around the stadium.

if you want a guaranteed spot right next to the action and dont wanna deal with the train, i've been using this app called Prked. you can rent someones driveway or garage right next to Empower Field at Mile High. its usually way cheaper than the official lots and you can get super close, like a 5 minute walk away. lets you skip all the traffic chaos trying to get into the main lots.

the official stadium lots are mostly sold out of permits. there are a few spots they sell on game day but they're expensive, like $40-$55 and credit card only. if you want to tailgate, Lot C is the spot but it opens 6 hours before kickoff and sells out within an hour, so you have to be there super early. the other lots open 4.5 hours before the game. they also have a carpool section in Lot A for $45 if you have 4 or more people in your car but you cant tailgate there.

there are other lots nearby like at Ball Arena or the aquarium, and some cash lots in the neighborhood but be careful. the city is super strict on game days and they will ticket and tow cars parked illegally in the neighborhoods around the stadium. read the signs carefully.

my biggest advice is to get there early. for an 11:25am event, i'd say be parked by 9:30am at the latest. the traffic getting off I-25 is no joke and it can take forever. also if you're using uber or lyft, the drop-off spot is different from the pickup spot. pickup is a good 15-minute walk away from the stadium at the Ball Arena rideshare lot, so be ready for that after the game.
