Should I remove the camera lenses protection from my phone?

I have an S25 Ultra and I put on this cheap glass camera thing that came with my cover, but it makes my phone look ugly from fhe back and I think photos look worse at night. Other than that, I'm not even sure if they really help protecting the phone much.

Before buying this phone, I always had cheaper models, so I never had such big and exposed cameras, then I'm asking here: is a protection really necessary? Will they scratch or break easily if I don't keep it? Are there any other options? Is replacing cameras glass so expensive that makes it worth having ugly protections? Thanks a lot!
