Need Help with the Cause of my Lower back Pain.

As the title says I have been dealing with lower backpain for roughly 3 months now. The pain is in the lumbar Region of my Back and is sometimes in my glutes/hips. The pain is 90% of the time a dull aching pain, however I have experienced a sharper tighter pain that is brought on from certain movements(will go into this later).

I consulted my GP and got a CT scan of my lumbosacral Spine and Sacroiliac Joints. The report from the scan stating "at L5/S1, there is a small central and left paracentral disc bulge with minimal narrowing of the left subarticular recess but no significant central canal, right subarticular or foraminal stenosis". I have also attached some images of my Scan as context. When discussing with my GP whether or not this would be the cause of my back pain he said it probably isn't as many people have disc bulges that cause no symptoms. Also after my first GP visit I was given a Script of Meloxicam which I think has been helpful but no cure.

Returning to my previous mentions, my back pain is persistent throughout the day at a 3-4/10 level and it can come on when im sitting down(usually causes a more lumbar region ache) or it can be there when I am walking(dull ache in upper glutes/lumbar). I have had to incidents which have causes sharper pains, the first of which I was using the Leg extension machine at the gym doing single leg, leg extensions; On one of my final reps I felt a painful twinge in my lower back. The immediate pain was around a 6 or 7/10 and I immediately went home and iced the in pain region. The second time I experienced this pain was roughly a week later when I was doing barbell squats and felt the exact same pain but slightly less painful. Again I stopped my activity, went home and iced the region. The immediate pain from both situations lasted around 30 minutes, however my average level of pain in the lumbar region was higher for the next 2/3 days.

I am writing this because I am lost at what is causing what feels like an inescapable back pain. I am 26 and active, I walk for an hour minimum daily and weight train 4-5 days a week, however this situation has me completely lost and is extremely draining both mentally and physically. If my situation does not improve I will be getting an MRI early next year, but I would love to hear if anyone has any suggestions or ideas as to why my lumbar region is always aching.
