The indirect method s5 e7

I'm watching this episode and it's a female trainee working with John and Roy. She seems to be having trouble with giving chest compressions and with another patient doesn't diagnose the pupils correctly.

Odd thing is she's nurse. She's more highly trained and qualified than the paramedics, yet she's struggling with basic stuff. And since she's a nurse, why is she training to be a paramedic anyway?
