4.5 months
My little one is coming up to 21 weeks / will be 5 months on the 19th December. She used to be an amazing sleeper (10pm-5am) and then we hit the 4 month regression.
She has been waking hourly and would only go back to sleep when the dummy was put back in. I decided to go cold turkey with the dummy on Sunday (I’m writing this early hours Wednesday morning). The last couple of days were hell as she screamed overnight and at nap time but this is starting to reduce.
Sunday night she did 3 hours sleep, then screamed the house down before eventually being rocked and fed back to sleep - then she did 3 hours again then fed then was hourly from 5am.
Monday night she did 4 hours before being rocked back to sleep for 14 minutes. She fed at 12:40 then did 2 hours then was rocked to sleep when she then did 1 hour. She was fed at 3:15am and was then hourly since.
Tonight she did 3 hours before I rocked her to sleep. She woke after 11 minutes so I fed her at 11:21pm. She then slept 2 hours. I then rocked her / put her down sucking her thumb and she went to sleep but only for 23 minutes. I’m now feeding from 2:29am.
How do I stop the false starts? How do I stop feeding being the only way she will give longer sleep?
She did seem to be under the weather on Tuesday as she was pretty inconsolable during the way and is very congested *
I also tried to do the pick up put down method for her first nap on Tuesday and it was a disaster. At around 50 mins she started to drift off but then woke up and since then she screamed every time she was put down and I called it after 70 minutes. I do think maybe it’s too much to try to teach her to self settle so quickly after taking her dummy.
Please help! I’m not wanting to try and cry it out / Ferber methods.
