Tips or thoughts on Scholar?

Gameplay Discussion

Before anything I just want to clarify im in depth 4 and tbh im not very good at the game. just some observations or thoughts I had while playing today

Early Game

If you pick up any relic that gives your opening attack frost or any kind of on-hit effect, Scholar immediately feels great. The pacing of the early game actually lets you walk up, proc what you need, and control engagements without getting deleted for it. The whole debuff/positioning playstyle works smoothly here because enemies are still slow, predictable, and the levels are forgiving enough that you can afford to take those small risks.

Late Game

The issues start once you reach late game, where getting close enough to proc anything becomes a problem in itself. Enemy damage ramps up so hard that a single mistake can end the run, and most bosses, especially Nightlords tend to be either immune or extremely resistant to your effects. With such a small HP pool I just simply can’t justify the risk of stepping in, so the class collapses into a passive debuff role. You reapply your debuff whenever you safely can, wait for a stun or riposte window, and maybe get a proc if the fight happens to line up in your favor. On top of that, late-game fights drag on for so long that you inevitably run out of consumables, leaving you stuck in the same cycle of rotating your debuff and waiting for the rare moment where it’s actually safe to contribute.
