How to design a paludarium

I have this huge, crazy dream of having a Bioshock-themed paludarium. I have vampire crabs, so my thoughts are having the land area be inside Rapture and the water is the sea? I suck at designing and I’m struggling with putting together an idea on paper.

Does anyone have any suggestions or resources they’ve used that might help in creating this?
