Can I knit a New Leaf beanie on magic loop?

Basically the title. I'm planning on knitting Audacious Ewe's New Leaf Beanie, butI don't have a circular short enough. I've done magic loop before, but I question this one because I'm not sure how to line up the leaf stitches with the split, plus you slip one stitch each round. I feel like that would keep cutting g off a Leaf when I get to the end of each side.
