So when my fiancée and I were on our way back from vacation with my family, our dog had managed to escape from my mother in laws house that Wednesday morning before thanksgiving. We got back at 4am, slept for about 2 hours, then got woken up to a phone call saying our dog was missing, and we then spent the next few days before going back to work hunting down leads and trying to find her. Unfortunately come that Monday we had to go back to work, and it cut down on our time to search and by that Saturday it had been a week since anyone had seen or reported her. We contacted a drone operator who said we basically had little to no shot since dogs move approximately 18 miles an hour, and we had another lady with the same breed try and tell us she was in survival mode and wouldn’t come to any familiar voice or even food.
Fast forward today after starting to give up hope, we get a phone call saying someone had her and my fiancées aunt was luckily off work and was able to grab her.
Guess where she was? Fucking 8 miles away. Wanna know how they caught her? With food. Ain’t that a bitch?
Luckily our pup is doing okay, somehow only lost a pound but had a pretty gnarly cut on her back that had to be stapled, plus fleas and a few tics that were pulled off her, but luckily she is on antibiotics and heart worm meds. Any advice on how to help recovery is greatly appreciated.

Shout out to my dog
