Hello everyone, today I wanted to share this idea I’m toying with those last days :

What if, characters from the series Arcane received a miraculous ?

Really I have no idea how many of you will be interested, as I am not sure the Venn diagram of Arcane and Miraculous fan intersects a lot…

The two shows have **very** different vibes BUT they both are animated by french studios and have characters with great design.

**/!\\ Major spoiler alert for the whole serie Arcane and Miraculous season 1 to 5 /!\\**

For this project I attributed the miraculous according to their power and symbol and not to their chara-design and 4 characters will have double-miraculous, so in total I made 15 characters, here how it goes :

**1 \] Jinx : Cat and Monkey miraculouses**

*Midnight Monkey / Nocty-Macaque*

Destruction and Chaos are two things that really fit Jinx’s personality, moreover the monkey is a symbol that she often uses on her weapons / crime scene

Charadesign : Her “mask” is monkey head-shaped with matching monkey’s ears. I could not give her cat ears now so I gave her cat claw and a put a lot of black on her outfit

**2 \] Ekko : Ladybug and Snake miraculouses**

*Lucky Snake /  Ophio-chanceux*

I chose the miraculous of Création for Ekko as a mirror for Jinx. The two have a very important duality in the series : Ekko went through similar trauma but he created an oasis in Zaun rather than sinking into violence.

And of course I also gave him the Snake miraculous as his Z-Drive in the series has the same power as the Snake

Charadesign : I love the idea of a ladybug miraculous holder wearing a cloak mimicking ladybug’s elytra. His sleeves have snake scales. His outfit is blue but still shows the classical black dot.

**3 \] Viktor : Rabbit and Mouse miraculouses**

*Herald of ubiquity / Héraut de l’ubiquité*

As the most powerful being in the universe I had to give him the most powerful miraculous. Especially as Viktor literally traveled back in time to create himself as the Herald. He now have the miraculous of Great Evolution

And the miraculous of multiplication for his power in the final fight where he possessed all his followers to fight everywhere at the same time

Charadesign : It mixes the color of the mouse and bunny miraculous. His mask has bunny ears and a small mouse nose. One of the rings of his belt is now the bunny watch, and his cloak is now held by the mouse necklace.

**4 \] Jayce : Goat and Horse miraculouses**

*Hooves of progress / Sabots du progrès*

The goat for his creative aspect, the way he became the Man of Progress by bringing his invention to reality

The Horse because I associate a lot this miraculous to technology (thanks to Max I guess?), but also because Jayce created the Hexgate : a way for fast travel that is the closest thing to teleportation.

Charadesign : His design is inspired by the modern horse riding outfit, and he has big horns for the goat aspect. And I gave him some steampunk glasses for the engineer’s look

**5\] Vi : Tiger miraculous**

*Great Claw / Gran-Griffe*

The mega powerful punch granted by the Tiger miraculous suits Vi's ability.

I hesitated a lot with the Ox miraculous, because determination fits Vi a lot as well, but finally I gave the Ox to another very good candidate. Also I made duos each time, and Vi’s duo won’t have two miraculouses and I didn’t want the duo to be unbalanced

Charadesign : Her iconic red jacket now gets some stripe on, and her mask is hiding her “VI” tattoo

**6\] Caitlyn : Bee miraculous**

*The Sting / L’Aiguille*

I am sad that no miraculous has something like a “sniper power” because it would have fitted Caitlyn perfectly. But Venom’s power is a little similar to neutralizing a target with a bullet. And also because the Kiraman are an aristocratic and very powerful family that could be associated with royalty.

Charadesign : It was hard to illustrate Caitlyn without her iconic blue color or her enforcer outfit. But I realized her charadesign in negative color matches a potential bee outfit. She wears several hexagonal patterns on her outfit. Her mask hides the half of the face she lost an eye from. She wears a high bun with the bee comb, inspired by the aristocratic hairstyles found in several east-asian civilisations, it’s a reference to her Ionian heritage (the fictional continent inspired by asia)

**7 \] Mel : Turtle miraculous**

*Golden Turtle / Tortue Dorée*

The first time we see Mel’s power is when she protects Jayce and herself from the council explosion. And after, her power often manifests as a force-field that looks like the Turtle shield.

Charadesign : It was a hard one as green is not a colour usually matching Mel. But with a lot of gold we still get her vibe. Her dress has stylized pattern of a turtle-shell. Similarly her corset mimics the ventral part of a shell.

**8\] Ambessa : Ox miraculous**

*Warlord Neith / Générale Neith (Neith is a cow-headed egyptian goddess of war)*

Her anti-magic runes are similar to the Ox power. Determination really is a defining characteristic of her, and obviously she is big, strong and has brutal force, fitting the Ox theme as well.

Charadesign : I think it’s my favorite design (with Mel close behind). Her mask is the one she wear in the final fight but with horn extensions. Her braid looks like an ox tail. And for the rest it’s her recolored armor.

**9\] Isha : Pig miraculous**

*Miss Maiale (Maiale means pig in italian, I thought it sounded cute)*

I think she fits so much for jubilation. She’s giving hope through the series, she shows people what they need : she showed Jinx to Zaun to give them hope, she showed to Jinx she could be a good person, she showed to Vi jinx could care to someone other than her.

Charadesign : I wanted to give her a cute vibe, but also a little cow-boy one, I think it matches her vibe

**10\] Sevika : Dog miraculous**

*Dober-woman (it was supposed to be a joke, but I can’t think of a better name)*

Hard to find a fitting character for Adoration, but loyalty is a recurring theme during Sevika’s arc and loyalty is commonly associated to dog

Charadesign : This one gave me a hard time, I struggled for ideas for a week so I gave up and made something very simple. I gave her a doberman vibes, and replaced her shark-shaped mechanical arms with a dog-shaped one.

**11\] Singed : Butterfly miraculous**

*Doctor Brindled / Docteur Phalène (referencing to the Brindled beauty / Phalène hérissée which caterpillar has purple undertone)*

The way Singed uses shimmer to give people different special abilities (super strength, super speed, super resistance, etc) is similar to the butterfly power, thus the association.

Charadesign : His mask is butterfly-shaped and instead of shimmer vial, his belt holds akumas in bottles

**12\] Maddy : Fox miraculous**

*Foxglove / Queue-de-renard (like the common toxic flower, in french the name should be “Queue-de-loup”/”Wolf-tail” so I switched for a fox meaning, but it’s also the name of another flower : the love-lies-bleeding)*

She’s a liar and a manipulator, a spy who gave an illusion of a love story. She has Volpina’s vibes so it was an obvious choice…

Charadesign : I didn’t went to far for this one, I just oranged her original outfit (with bonus ears and tail)

**13\] Silco : Rooster miraculous**

*Lord Rooster / Sire Coq*

We’re getting to the part where the associations are getting more and more far-fetched. But you would say Silco is someone very pretentious. And the way I gained more and more power over his life could be associated with the Rooster’s power?

Charadesign : Silco’s original coat was perfect to give a rooster vibes, the mask hide the scarred half of his face

**14\] Vander : Peacock miraculous**

*Winged Guardian / Gardien Ailé*

I am sorry, this is the worst association of all. I just wanted Vander to have a miraculous and I found no one for the peacock miraculous. But he kinda created his own family just like Gab/Tomoe/Colt did with sentimonster ? (Yeah I am not convinced of my own word either...)

After some thought, I think I should have given him the turtle miraculous because he is a protective figure, for his children, but also for Zaun. And Mel could have gotten the Peacock for how she manipulates people’s emotion for her politics. It could have been interesting for her to have a miraculous linked to her practical abilities rather than her magical ones.

But I realized this long after I made all the drawing and I hadn’t the motivation to remake them x)

Charadesign : I really like the idea of cloak with peacock pattern. And I added the typical feathers found on peacock's heads, I think it's so cute!

**15\] Heimerdinger : Dragon miraculous**

*Techno-dragon*

Okay… HEAR ME OUT. I know the most intuitive choice would have been the dog miraculous, but as I said I don’t want esthetic association. And I think the dragon fits so well : Dragons in many cultures are old and wise creatures, matching Heimerdinger as a professor, a dean and a counselor. Moreover, one of his flaw is perfection : the way he’s seeking it and refuses to act if he’s not sure it will be perfect.

Charadesign : For the mask I was inspired by the dragon puppets found in chinese’s parades

**CONCLUSION**

Okay, so here it’s done. There was a lot to be said and thank you very much for reading this! I’d really like to know which miraculous you would give to which character, your opinion, you design idea, etc... Have fun!
