Can anyone identify this motif?

This victorian cast iron fireplace cover meant to be used in summertime has a scene that looks familiar but I cannot identify it. Mother and child playing with a young satyr. The child holds a scepter(or a torch?) and there is an alter on the left. This scene is common on a number of fireplace covers in a variety of depictions.
