So, in linguistics, there's something known as 'prototypical cognitive categorization', which is basically a really fancy way of saying that when a word is said to you, your brain thinks of a certain 'default' of that word.

In English, there's actually a feature of speech where the speaker tries to fish the prototypical version of concept from the listener's head by repeating a word twice with unique stress.

"I want a salad; you know, like a salad salad." (said twice, the listener probably thinks of a leafy green salad instead of like... a fruit salad).
