How do students manage their T1 Diabetes manage their diabetes when they go abroad for masters?
Hi community,
I'm a T1 diabetic of 14 years now from India. I'm making plans for going for masters abroad, currently researching everything if it's worth all the risk.
I've never used a cgm machine or insulin pumps, have manually checked my sugar and used injections my whole life. My readings aren't the worst but they definitely do lie in "problematic territory".
Seeking advice from T1 diabetic people who have gone for masters,
- How did you manage your sugar in the new country?
- Were you easily able to find insulin there? or Did you just carry 6 months stocks with you?
- Have your sugars fluctuated coming to the new region?
- How did the shift in food impact your sugars.
Would prefer advice from people who use injections and test strips, but all advice are welcome by all means. Thanks in advance:)
