Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel – 110 Proof 🥃
Rating: 7.7/10
👃Nose: Right out of the glass, this one hits you with a warmth of vanilla, toasted oak, and caramel. Pretty classic Wild Turkey. There’s also a little cherry cola thing going on. The ethanol is present (it's 110 proof, after all), but it’s still surprisingly easy to drink. 8.2
👅 Taste: The palate opens rich and maybe a bit oily. The expected caramel and oak coming forward first. On the second sip you start tasting notes of cherry. There is also a slight peppery spice that builds but is not over powering. There’s a nice balance between sweetness and heat. 8.3
🌬️ Finish: Medium-long and a little bit oaky. Some vanilla hangs around and makes you want another sip. The heat tends to stick around a while so a novice may not like the proof. 7.5
💰Price: Usually found in the 50 to 70 range depending on your area. I was lucky to get it for 50.99. Not as cheap and in the Russell's 10 year category, but also not the kind of price that makes you question all your life choices like Russell’s 15 can be priced at. For a single barrel bourbon of this quality, it’s more than fair. 7 out of 10
Overall Thoughts: Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel is a reliable, well-crafted pour that offers a lot. It’s flavorful and brings that signature Wild Turkey taste and quality. While it doesn’t quite hit “mind-blowing” territory, it’s consistently enjoyable and a bottle I like to always keep on the shelf.
Final Verdict: 7.7/10 – A very solid bourbon with a slight kick.

Cheers!
