Should I ask to be paid more?
So the job I work requires me to work front desk and a kids club/daycare. We take care of kids from three months all the way up to 12 years old. The reason I’m asking if I should be getting paid more is because one because the age range for the children is so wide a lot of the time all these children have different needs. How am I supposed to attend to each and everyone when I have a newborn in my hand a toddler at my feet and preteens running around while they are kids and their who are barely learning how to walk let alone crawl. Second of all the kid to worker ratio is insane. Sometimes it will just be me by myself with 15 kids. It was recently Thanksgiving break and it was just my coworker and I watching about 25 kids mind you all different ages it gets tiring and let alone dangerous. How am I supposed to take care of each and every kid when if I look away from one for five seconds they start crying or fighting? And lastly we’ve been having a lot of children who are coming in with autism, which is fine I don’t mind at all, but it’s the fact that I am not experienced or certified to take care of children with autism let alone or any of my coworkers not only that, but when it comes to children on the spectrum, it requires a different kind of attention and care. Who do I talk to about this and how should I bring it up?
