Has anyone unfcked their life and gotten their sht together after 30 years old?

General Advice

I turned 30 years old earlier this year and I feel like a POS for not getting my life somewhat together by now. I used to hear all the time “your 20s suck, but your 30s are great because you’ve figured yourself out and you have more money” but neither of those things have become true for me. Obviously, I know you have to work for those things and there’s not a magic fairy that waves a wand when the clock strikes midnight. I’ve been in a pathetic dysfunctional freeze for years and I’m too scared to get out of my comfort zone. I’m reaping the consequences of my actions every day and it’s still not enough for me to change.

I used to have a cool group of friends but I slowly stopped replying to each of them. I stopped seeing them in person and my social skills wildly regressed. I deleted all of my social media apps because I got a pit inside my stomach every time I saw them go through a life event I had no idea about. I’ve been in a relationship with someone who I’m unsure is right for me but I can’t make an educated decision because I’m so so far from myself, and I don’t even know if that’s even truly how I feel. I started bouncing around jobs in my industry and stopped maintaining my professional skills. I’m unemployed before the holidays and I am absolutely feeling it. I haven’t made any professional connections and it makes me feel like such a good for nothing part of society for some reason. I haven’t up-skilled since my first real job. I stoped taking care of myself and my appearance changed drastically. I stopped watching movies, listening to music and reading, now I often have trouble finding the word I want to say. Anytime I do attempt to consume something good for me, the actual content of it is forgotten the next day. I second guess every single choice I make and it usually results in me not making any choice, which puts me in anxiety-inducing situations. I avoid talking to extended family to avoid the typical “so how is life/what have you been up to/what are you working on?” questions. I leave important responsibilities until the last minute and I cannot keep living this way. All of this has just made me become a shell of a person and I don’t know how to find myself again. It feels like I’m losing in every single aspect of my life and I’m overwhelmed by how much there is to fix. I don’t want to be 40+, lonely, working a dead end job, unable to afford the little joys we do get in life because I didn’t care to put the effort into myself.

I want to hear from anyone who has completely turned their life around post 30 years old. More specifically, from anyone who has met and created solid friendships after 30 or created/ran a solid business/career in something they had little to no experience in when they were younger.
