TIFU by having to throw a paper ball into a trash bin infront of 4000 people and hitting someone else

Ok so I'm sorry to be that guy but obligatory this happened a year ago. This stuff just doesn't happen everyday lol

A year ago when this happened me and my family had gone to go see some magic/comedy show nearby where a couple of magicians once a year come to do their thing to just have fun, and since it's only once a year, this night especially the entire place was fully packed, like I've never seen the place so full before.

Anyways we get there and since my grandma and great-uncle are with us my dad wanted to make sure this experience would really stick with us for the rest of our lives you know? And he ended up doing just that, i guess just not in the way he expected.

We ended up getting hooked up with the finest seats in the house like just 2 to a few rows away from the very front and right in the center, good enough for us to get comfortable and watch the show.

Anyways maybe like an hour goes by and a few magicians come go... and then suddenly the most goofy, out of place looking,fat, English speaking dude shows up on the stage... ( I'm not in an English speaking country btw)

Now guess what happens when this guy gets on stage, the most out of place looking guy ever who you'd never expect. This guy he gets to the center, pauses for a few seconds, and just goes:

"hUhhUhuuhUhhUhh".

Like the goofiest, most stupid type of laugh that is so hard to describe, AND EVERYONES LAUGHING.

Like maybe only 10% of people there even understand what he's even saying but by just doing that stupid goofy ass laugh and ending every sentence with it inserted with the right timing, it's absolute gold.

So he continues on with some tricks and then here comes the crowd participation part, where he gets a crumpled paper ball, says he's going to chuck it into the crowd and then whoever gets it has to participate in some game.

Well well well, who ends up the getting ball?

MY GODDAMN GREAT UNCLE, BUT SINCE THIS GUY DOESNT EVEN SPEAK A WORD Of ENGLISH HE JUST ENDS UP LOOKING AROUND DUMBFOUNDED FOR 5 SECONDS, and then passes it to ME.

Now with the ball in my hand, im now forced to have to converse with this guy on stage from like 20 Meters away by having to yell, while this guys so privileged he gets to have a microphone, and then he reveals that the his gig is that I have to make a shot with this flimsy, loosely crumpled piece of paper in my hand into a trash bin.

At this point with the entire auditorium watching, in my mind I'm just like "fuck it we ball". So i put the ball onto my right palm, grasp it with all my might, bend my torso and shoulder with perfect form ready to swing like a catapult.

And then I throw it.

Everyone watches in anticipation.

And then...

I actually makethe fucking shot. I actually make it. Holy fuckkgn shit

Everyone in disbelief stands up and starts applauding me and cheering for what I have just don-

No just kidding I hit some old guy full force directly in front of me in the head FUCK.

It actually got a laugh out the audience and the guy wasnt even phased but like bro fuck like how is that even possible to miss that bad dude they had to think it was staged right and that I was just a planted audience member ok please tell me that.

After that big fail since the ball didn't go anywhere, I got a second chance. Now was my moment.

Once again with perfect form I twist my body and get ready to shoot. The basket is 20 meters away and on top of a stage so I really have to make a long shot over here.

I catapult the paper in the air and this time...

It doesn't even make it halfway, literally the air stops it in it's path like some tom and jerry shit when he looks down right before he's about to fall, just like that it's like it hit a brick wall. And then just pure dead silence and no reaction whatsoever.

After that I don't even remember what happens, the show just goes on. The guy did ask me one more thing which was to say a random card number and shape and then when he pulls it out everyone's like "woooahhhhhhh he guessed the right card" but yeah that was it. Very cool experience. It's 3 am as I write this help

TL;DR: Went to a magic show with my family, had to attempt to throw a paper ball into a bin 2 times infant of the entire crowd and fail (rigged)
