Uncertain if I want to attend RN Nursing school

Hello, I’m in process of career change. I was in optometry school (didn’t work out for me), so I ended up getting my license as an optician. I love working in healthcare and interacting with patients. I really like optometry. In the past, I worked as an optometry tech for several years and volunteered at a hospital for a few years. However, my parents do not approve me staying as an optician and said that they don’t get enough pay. I just feel bummed out. So I was thinking about nursing because I liked my hospital volunteer experience and got a small chance to shadow main tele nurses. Although, I’m not too great at handling bodily fluids or injections. Do you think I should do RN associates program? Also don’t want to end up making the same big mistake like I did when attending optometry school.
