Thinkpad T14 Gen 5 AMD vs Honor Magicbook X16 Plus

I want to buy a new laptop. I currently use an upgraded HP 15S-EQ1321UR (or something like that) with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. I think 32 GB of RAM should be the minimum for me because I use many containers and VMs. Sometimes I need to solve memory-consuming tasks.

I really want to dive into ThinkPads, but the price is steep (or high), and the screen size is way smaller than mine (I used a 16-inch), whereas Honor has a 4K screen, by the way. So, for the same price, I get 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD, and I would need to pay for an upgrade (and RAM is expensive now). Is it worth it? I don't really play games; I mostly use it for study and programming. I also want to switch to Linux
