Rant + Questions about expirations

My husband and I went to a big fundraiser the other night. We bid on a few things at the silent auction. One of the items we won was a basket full of ZO products. I love ZO as does my sister and mom. I figured I’d keep what I wanted and send the rest to them. It was about $700 in product and my bid was $400.

So I get home with the basket and start looking at the products only to find they are all expired. I am so upset. They’re expired since December of 2023.

Should I just throw them out? Are they even worth trying to use? I’m so upset that they even had something that expired at auction. The basket was wrapped in cellophane so I couldn’t check the dates but it was donated from a well known esthetician’s office so I didn’t think twice when I bid. A lady and I went back and forth until bidding closed and I barely beat her out.
