ex friend / trust
more of a throwaway rant, my ex friend who flirted with me for years, led me on etc... broke my perception of trust. I feel like I followed blindly, they said they loved me and showed it with actions from what I understood. Is it possible to just read everything wrong or are people out there really this delusional/ convoluted? they told others they were "obsessed with me" which terrified me, told me they loved me... then went on to say they never liked me. I don't understand romance and I don't understand how people can lie lie lie. I will never get a formal apology or closure from this person and I struggle deeply with rumination and I just want to be able to function. I already struggle with socializing as someone on the spectrum so dealing with this is like a foot on my neck at times. If they really never cared why perform such a big charade. I think they cope in a way l'll never understand. Maybe I don't even want to understand because they hurt me so much. I want to make friends but I feel so gullible. I know there's better than this. Dealing with my own personhood is already a burden so the fact that people can step on others and take no responsibility is infuriating at times. Throughout the whole relationship I felt like I did so much over explaining of myself, which I tend to do and they made it feel welcome. I'm afraid to explain myself at all sometimes these days which feels like l'm trapped in my skin. They made me feel understood then pulled the rug from underneath saying l'd never be able to truly understand them. It was such an isolating experience and I wish I could just forget about them.
