Why does Vegeta continue to call himself the Prince of all Saiyans?

His kingdom is long gone and he seems to have accepted that, so his prince title is gone. By Buu Saga he has come to accept Earth as his home.

Is there a reason he continues to call himself the Prince?

If he is going to continue to reference himself by royalty, wouldn't he also be a king by now?
