Is there anyone on here with UPS that can help in locating a recently lost Amazon UPS return???

Hi Everyone. So I returned an item on 12/1 in a UPS drop box worth $170. On 12/4 I called Amazon as there was no activity. The foreign agent lied and told me they were issuing a refund and would contact UPS to investigate. Well they did not and I just found out today 12/09. UPS will not let me file a claim because the tracking shows no activity that it is not in UPS possession and I did not generate the label. I am now stuck where I am out $170 without an item.
