I wanted to cut the top plates out and throw in a wall stack vent for a microwave.The joists in the attic all fall on this middle of house wall. It would be a 10” chunk with 0% top plate remaining in that section. Would galvanized ties do anything or should I just steer clear of venting in the wall?
