Which tuning best for a Pegasus?

I have finally upgraded my pickups to a Sentient/Pegasus set and have been left wondering if I should swap tunings also.

I try to keep one guitar in D and another in C (generally standard tunings) and the Pegasus has gone into my "main", D-tuned guitar.

However, I am aware that a lot of the positive blurb about the Pegasus is its ability to articulate lower tunings clearly - some even seem to believe its best qualities shine through most clearly in such circumstances.

Can anyone here offer an informed opinion? Am I wasting its potential keeping it in D over C?
