how old have your chinchillas lived?

My parents' little guy is 16 or 17 years old. It seems like that's on the older end, but he's still happy and healthy. He is a solo chin, but we got him from the animal shelter that way. We weren't able to source a companion chin at the time and he's been pretty content with his life. He gets a pretty endless supply of treats at this point in his life.
