28.1 mpg on the first day, 27.9 mpg on the second day. Both of these days had many bouts of elevation changes (pnw to social). Cruise control set from 70-77 the entire trip down I-5.

I did the same drive the opposite way on a 2016 Outback so I didn’t expect much of a change other than how I felt in the car.

Wrong.

The adaptive driving and the lane centering make this an absolute dream of a car to drive on long trips. With my hand on the wheel all times, I was hardly ever driving the car. Once I got into southern Oregon I turned the centering off as the windy roads were shutting it off automatically anyways.

I am still getting used to the adaptive cruise control in slower traffic - especially stop and go, I turned it off most of the time. Just with drivers suddenly stopping in front of me I didn’t want my breaks to be slammed uncontrollably. If anyone has any input on adaptive control under 30 lmk how your experience has been.

I’ll usually get pretty tired after hour 6, but honestly I have just been cruising listening to my podcasts feeling like I’m just sitting there enjoy the scenery (through my front windshield. I’m always paying attention to my front.

My dog in the back is having an excellent time in her little cradle thing I bought. Highly worth it if you have the space and a pup.

Added a pic of her for the dog tax.
