So, Vanessa is not a cop anymore or what?

I just saw the second movie and i can’t stop thinking about how they dropped Vanessa’s job. Like, she’s a police officer in the first movie, then gets injured, okey, a year has passed since then, and now… she has more free time? And she can run into other people’s houses with her car without getting into any trouble? And if she’s not a cop anymore then why does she still has her gun from the first movie? (I had much bigger problems with this movie speaking as a movie fan now and not a fnaf fan, but this is something i cannot dismiss
