Respecting the ending message of Danganronpa V3...

For whatever reason this is a very contentious point in the community.

I get it. Everybody wants more official Danganronpa lol.

People justify the idea that the ending message of V3 being the final end of the series was in fact just confined to the game and it's actually not a truthful message about running IPs into the ground until they stop becoming special.

It's sad to see fans doing these mental gymnastics for a simple ask of letting it end. We already have RainCode and The Hundred Line. Isn't that enough for any of you? RainCode is literally just copy and pasted for the most part of V3's mechanics lol.

It makes me upset that Danganronpa 2x2 is coming out because it feels like a very very slimy way of making this series continue without it "technically" being a 4th official mainline game. It's still antithetical to the message even if the new game isn't new, but a remake. It tells me that they're more than happy to find loopholes and being hypocritcal.

It hurts me deeply because V3 could've been the change we desperately needed in media and art. The idea that we don't really need remakes or more of the same games we've been getting for decades. That life can continue evolving into new ideas like Danganronpa once was.

Well... I hope everyone enjoys the slippery slope of 2x2 since it'll spawn a whole host of new games I'm sure and possibly even Danganronpa 5. Then the series will go on with spinoffs and more things until everyone just gets so sick of it and then it dies until they remake Trigger Happy Havoc.

You know - the cycle of media we all love so much.
