Has anyone obtained a gate pass at AA's JFK T8?

I live in NYC, and I'd like to escort my elderly parents on their connection at JFK (SFO-JFK-LHR). I'd like to request a gate pass and curious if anyone has done this at JFK. Any tips are appreciated - thanks.
