Need some advice from experienced travellers!

Hi yall! My partner and I (both 21) want to go on our first overseas trip together next year! We are Australian and are not experienced travellers, we have literally never left the country. We want to go on a beginner friendly overseas trip to give us some experience travelling. We want to stay in hotels/motels rather than hostels and will have plenty of money saved but we want it to be on the cheaper side rather than super expensive. First things first, passport. I know, super silly not to have one by now but we are working on it! Can y’all help me with a beginners guide to travelling overseas? Where some good places could be, how much money it will cost and any other useful info would be amazing.
We would prefer somewhere warmer as we live in the Snowy Mountains HAHAH Thanks in advance <3
