I feel like they could’ve kept Japanese writing.

That goes for 4kids.

Think of it this way: the Pokémon world is already a fantastical world unlike our own. So for international versions, why not have the Japanese writing be part of said fantasy?

Not that no localization could be allowed for other aspects but still, I feel this could've been left well enough alone in some cases.
