What do people here do when a pothos reaches the top of a moss pole?

I'm talking about a pole you either can't make taller because it's reached the ceiling or, in my case, you simply don't want to make it taller. I understand you can "chop and extend," but what if you don't want to have multiple moss poles of the same plant (or an abundance of moss poles)? The only thing I can think of is to cut new growth off, propagate, and make potted plants to either keep or give away or sell. Is that basically my only option?
