The Pale King's failure caused the opposite of everything he's said during the void heart flashback to happen:

-No cost too great.
Literally cost him his entire kingdom.

- No mind to think.
It seems to be able to think just fine, as it's very well trained for combat (especially for someone who's been trapped in a impenetrable temple for so long) and is seen overriding the infection, trying to stab itself to possibly take the radiance down alongside itself.

- No will to break.
It definitely is willing to free the kingdom for all and for once, as not only it does help defeat the radiance (at the end of the fight), but definitely does not want to be stuck in the black egg temple like it was planned for him to for the rest of it's life.

- No voice to cry suffering.
It can literally scream. And from the sounds of it, it's definitely suffering.

- Born of God and Void.
As far as I'm aware, pale king was no god to begin with. Neither was the White Lady.

- You shall seal the blinding light that plagues their dreams.
It couldn't contain the light. Their dreams were still plagued

- You are the Vessel.
It was NOTthep adequate vessel.

- You are the Hollow Knight.
He was not truly hollow.

Don't know if anyone has already pointed this out or if it's common sense, but I think this is a cool little detail about lore. Please correct me if I got something wrong

I've literally just noticed that the hollow knight goes against everything the pale king said about it
