[Short Story] Abel confronts Lute
I've been thinking about S3/S4 a lot, and one possible scenario for Abel and Lute is that Abel tries to save Lute from herself—preventing her from destroying herself further—even if it means he gets hurt in the process.
[Scene: A dark corridor. Lute strides forward with grim determination. Abel steps in front of her.]
Lute: Get out of the way.
Abel: No.
Lute shoves Abel aside. He stumbles, but immediately stands back up, blocking her path again.
Abel: Lute, you need to stop.
Lute: You don’t understand. This has to be done.
Abel: I do understand. That’s why I can’t let you.
She pushes him harder. Abel crashes against the wall, but drags himself upright, battered yet resolute.
Lute: Move!
Abel: Not until you listen.
Lute snarls, her patience snapping. She throws a punch. Abel takes it, falls, then rises again.
Abel: I won’t let you destroy yourself.
Lute: You’re wasting your strength!
Abel: If it saves you, it’s worth it.
The blows rain down—punches, kicks, strikes. Abel keeps falling, keeps standing, each time weaker but unyielding.
Lute (panting, furious): Why won’t you stay down?!
Abel (bloodied, trembling): Because you’re worth saving.
Finally, Lute grabs Abel by the collar. He hangs limp, barely conscious. She glares at him, shaking with frustration.
Her grip tightens… then loosens. Abel slips from her hands, collapsing to the ground.
Silence. The other Exorcists watch, surrounding them, stunned by the scene.
Lute clenches her fist, trembling with rage and conflict. She says nothing. After a long pause, she turns away, shoulders heavy, and walks off into the crowd.

Just a rough idea.
