I might have made a big problem

Need support/advice

I am stuck in a huge problem. From childhood, I used to engage in certain habits which I thought were normal for everyone. Later, I realized they were not. Two years ago, I accidentally stumbled upon a video that described "a POV of ADHD life." I was genuinely shocked, thinking, "No way is this a specific condition; this must be happening to every single person." I was immediately sure that I had it.

About seven months ago, I also discovered information about OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder). This was the one I was 100% sure I had. I started to doubt my self-diagnosis of ADHD, wondering if those symptoms might actually be part of the OCD. However, due to a lapse in judgment, I made a decision that, in hindsight, feels dumb: I told my parent about having ADHD.

For context, I am from an Asian country where people typically do not take these types of issues seriously, and most have never even heard of them. Despite this, I managed to convince my parent to schedule an appointment, though it was difficult.

When the appointment came, it was a normal session, and the doctor asked me questions. I now feel that I may have forcefully said "Yes" to some questions because I was so convinced I had ADHD that I inadvertently led the diagnosis. I was given a less powerful medication for one month and scheduled for a follow-up. I was never able to identify whether the medication was making any changes at all.

At the next appointment, I was asked how the month went. The doctor mentioned that there were other, more effective medicines available, though they were not present locally (but could easily be bought from another country). I was shocked to be given another one-month prescription. My dad simply said, "Take these for one month, and you will be completely cured." I tried to talk to him, but I realized this was not as big of a problem to him as it was to me. I decided I couldn't go through the ordeal of trying to convince him to make an appointment every month and chose to just manage it myself until I turned 18.

But now, I just cannot manage it anymore. The OCD has been making my life hell, and I cannot live with it every day. I know this is self-diagnosed, but I am 100% sure I have it. It would take too much time to write out all my compulsions, so I will just state that I have them.

A few days ago, I told my father again about my struggles, and he said he would get an appointment. This time, he is taking it seriously. However, I still do not know how to tell him that I might have OCD and not ADHD. Even I am not entirely sure if I have ADHD or not. It is also very difficult for me to convince him that I might have forcefully answered "Yes" to the doctor's questions in the previous appointment and potentially wasted that time.

Please tell me what to do i know this is self diagnosed but still and i rephrased the my paragraph
