Primary school change if we move out of the school district

Hi all!

We are moving to east bay next year. Our kid will start primary school. I know our kid will be assigned to the school within the school district where we live. Do we need to switch schools if we move out from the school district or can we stay in that school although our address will be outside of the school district? Thanks a lot!
