remove sections/sites/keywords from the new tab page?

I leave on the recommended-stories bit of the new-tab page, both to support firefox and because occasionally there will be an interesting recipe or story. However, so much of the feed is dominated by sports & entertainment. I'd like to remove whole sections (e.g. MLB, Entertainment, NFL), whole sites (e.g. Vogue, Sports Illustrated), and ideally add keyword filters (e.g. "slams", "Taylor Swift"). Basically recreating my RES filters. Are any of these possible?
