Navigating Christmas and baby bedtime - 5mo

Looking for other peoples advice on bedtime and still doing Christmas dinners etc!

Our (almost) 5mo is a great independent sleeper and we have a good 30min routine and bedtime around 7:00pm give or take.

I’m trying to find a way we can stay later at family Christmas parties on Christmas Eve and Day, but my husband thinks it’s not worth it to disrupt his sleep and we should just try to leave early.

I’m hoping there’s people out there who successfully have put babies down for bed (ie in a pack and play??) at someone else’s home, then put them in car seat for drive home and then transfer them into the crib without too much fuss… am I crazy? Lol

Any advice?
