Aqara app security

Ideally I would never install the aqara app but there are some things I can only do in there. I have read in this sub a lot of different alternatives. Some have the normal way, others have the app but no account this way you have access to some functionalities but from what I could understand it’s more secure. Others only install for firmware updates and the delete again. Others have it installed but in the router they block the aqara connection. Right now I have 2 cameras and ring bell I really don’t like the idea of the footage going to anyone except HKSV. What are your relationship with the app? What’s the best way to have access to the functionalities of the app without worrying about my footage being in other clouds? It will arrive soon in the mail an hub E1 and some door sensors and temperature sensors, will I need the app for something important?
