UV filter needed for Mexico Trip?

I’m going for a 2 weeks in Mexico where I will be taking pictures in beaches/sandy places.

I’m shooting with Canon L lenses therefore weather-sealed to some extent and I always use them with the lens hood. Would you recommend purchasing some UV filter for beach/sand potential damage?

I have seen it’s a very discussed topic that creates a lot of controversies…what would you recommend in these shooting conditions?
