Is "Incremental Static Regeneration" (ISR) worth the vendor lock-in?

Next.js ISR is amazing for large sites, but it basically ties you to Vercel (or a complex self-hosted node server). For those who stayed purely static, how do you handle updating just one page on a 10,000 page site without rebuilding the whole thing?
